Arkansas wins ugly to take 2-1 series lead

A single, a walk, an error, and groundball double play -- it wasn't the most exciting way to score runs but Arkansas took advantage to put up the biggest offensive output of the DMBL World Series so far, taking Game 3 by a score of 4-2, for a 2-1 series lead.

It was another crisp, well-pitched matchup in Game 2 of the DMBL World Series but this time Tucson came out on top, thanks to some timely hitting and a brilliant 4-hit shutout by Jon Lester.

The Game 1 pitching duel between Jake Arrieta and Dallas Keuchel came to fruition if only for 6 innings but it was Lorenzo Cain's magic postseason bat that came through for Arkansas yet again for a 2-1 extra-innings win at Tucson.

Tucson blasts its way into the final

Blasting five solo home runs, including two 8th-inning shot that proved to be the difference, top-seeded Tucson defeated 5th-seeded Allentown, 5-4, in the clinching Game 5 of the semifinal series. It was the third one-run game in the Best-of-Seven series.

Mules dominate to force Game 5

Whoa, save some runs there, Mules! Allentown seemed to take out all of their frustrations of the past three games on Scorpions ace Jake Arrieta, throttling Tucson, 10-0, in Game 4 to stay alive in their Best-of-7 semifinal series.

A rematch of last year's five-game DMBL final ended a game sooner as Arkansas swept San Francisco with a 4-0 win in Game 4 at San Francisco.

Top-seeded Tucson held on for a 4-3 win in Game 3 against offensively-effiicient Allentown, to take a 3-0 lead in the Best-of-7 semifinal series.

Mike Fiers and Edison Volquez matched one another for 6-plus innings but Falcons pulled out another late victory with a run in the 9th for a 2-1 win in San Francisco. The Game 3 triumph puts the defending champion Arkansas in a commanding 3-0 lead in the Best-of-7 semifinal series.

Nelson Cruz powered the offense with a 3-run home run and Zach Greinke delivered a fine performance over 7 innings to give No. 1 Tucson a 5-3 win over 5th-seeded Allentown in Game 2 of their semifinal tilt.

Ian Kinsler came up with a big hit for Allentown, leading the Mules to a 2-1 win over Sardine City on the road to take the first round series, 3 games to 2. It's the first series win in franchise history.

Another 8th inning score gives San Francisco 2-0 lead in Best of 5 with Vancouver

Another big 8th-inning run on Friday night proved the difference for San Francisco, which took a 2-0 lead over Vancouver in the 1st round of the DMBL playoffs, after  the 5-2 victory.

Kluber K's 10 in complete-game win over Allentown in Game 1

Corey Kluber went the distance, striking out 10 and limiting the Allentown offense to seven hits and a run as Sardine City took Game 1 of their opening series, 5-1.

Warren, Price reach 20 wins

Third-seeded San Francisco (88-74) will face sixth-seeded Vancouver (89-73) and fourth-seeded Sardine City (87-75) will take on fifth-seeded Allentown (91-71) in the first round of the 2015 playoffs, which open on Thursday.

Battle for the 3rd and 6th seeds

Going into the season finale on Sunday night, only two things have not been determined: the 6th and final playoff team, and the 3rd seed.

BREAKING: Keuchel kans 20th win

Dallas Keuchel became the first pitcher to reach 20 wins this season, and the first pitcher to win 20 games since fellow left-hander Clayton Kershaw and San Francisco's Anibal Sanchez both went 20-7 in 2014, along with Durham's Sonny Gray who sported a 23-6 mark that year.

Four teams, two seeds

Just three games remain in the 2016 DMBL season, and still not all has been decided about the playoffs - or even who's in.
