Schwellenbach follows up 20th win with no-hitter

Five days after becoming the DMBL's 1st 20-game winner in three years, and likely lone 20-game winner this year, Spencer Schwellenbach tightened his vise-like grip on the Ben McDonald Award, twirling Green Lake's 2nd no-hitter of the season.

Nolan Arenado's two-run homer tied the game and four batters later Kurt Suzuki's two-out single completed an 8th-inning comeback off the Marietta bullpen to give Tucson a 6-5 win in Game 2 of their 1st round Wild Card series.

Ben Zobrist raced home on a wild pitch in the 11th winning and Marietta held off a Tucson rally in the bottom of the inning to preserve a 4-3 win on the road in Game 1 of their 1st round Wildcard matchup.

Justin Turner hit another leadoff homer run - his 3rd straight game with a long ball - but Madison Bumgarner settled in after that to tame Marietta's offense as Tucson beat the Mighty Men 8-3 in Game 3 on Monday.

Tucson hitting heats up for Game 5 win

Rich Hill limited Hoboken to 4 hits over 7 innings and Tucson used a 5-run 7th inning to turn a pitchers' duel into a 7-1 rout in Game 5 on Wednesday night. The 2nd-seeded Kingsnakes now lead the Best-of-7 series as Game 6 shifts to Hoboken.

Three-home run fever is catching

Three-homer fever has spread to Tuscon. Kingsnakes 3B Nolan Arenado launched a trio of home runs on Wednesday and Tucson was the victim of three home runs the very next night by Philly's Tommy Joseph.

Tucson blasts its way into the final

Blasting five solo home runs, including two 8th-inning shot that proved to be the difference, top-seeded Tucson defeated 5th-seeded Allentown, 5-4, in the clinching Game 5 of the semifinal series. It was the third one-run game in the Best-of-Seven series.
