After being shut out of Kevin Mitchell Award voting in 2017, the Allentown CF has made his point, bringing home the next two Mitchell Awards to go with the 2013 award he already has on his mantel.
The 28-year-old becomes only the third player in DMBL history to win The Mitch in back-to-back seasons, joining Philly's Albert Pujols (2009-10) and Barry Bonds of Arkansas (2004-05, and 2002). Only Trout and Bonds have won the award three times.
Voting was based on a 10-7-5-3-2-1 system:

Trout was the only player to appear on all six ballots cast and handily won the award, 24 points ahead of the J.D. Martinez. It's the second year in a row that Trout led the league in on-base percentage, slugging percentage and runs, all while making 162 starts in center field -- for the 6th consecutive season.
Machado and Altuve both appeared on five of six ballots cast. Besides Trout, the only other players to nab 1st-place votes were Machado, Nelson Cruz and J.D. Martinez.
At least one voter had all three Allentown sluggers at the top of his ballot. Trout, Machado and the rookie Muncy powered the Mules to a Hernandez Division-winning 90-72 record. The triumvirate finished top-3 in slugging percentage among all batters and helped Allentown slug 247 homers on the year, second only to Tucson's 272, along with a league-best 40 triples (led by Ian Desmond's DMBL-best 10).
It's the third year in a row that Martinez has received votes and his second straight 2nd-place finish -- both times behind Trout by 24 points both years. He'll have to console himself with the 2019 battling title.
