In the first year of the league's 20-team field, 12 teams missed the playoffs and entered the 2022 draft.
The final team to miss out on the playoffs was 92-70 San Francisco, so The Experience got 1 ball in the lottery. The chances for each team doubled after that, all the way to 2,048 for the Race Point Racers, who lost a league-high 116 games.
The Racers actually tied with the Loudon Errors for the worst record at 46-116 but the Errors (now known as the Lollygaggers going forward) won the season series between the two teams, 4-3. Four games ahead of those two teams was the Newark Sugar Bears, who lost 112 games.

Race Point held on to the top pick but Loudon and Newark swapped spots, with the Sugar Bears leaping the Lollygaggers for No. 2.
The biggest shift came at picks No. 4 and 5. Hopatcong (62-100) improved from their original No. 6 slot to No. 4, cashing in on their 64 lottery balls. The biggest improvement was 3 spots as Marietta (78-84), with just 16 balls in the lottery, jumped from No. 8 to No. 5 - the second year in a row they improved their lot.
.In the 2021 draft lottery, Marietta snared the No. 1 pick, jumping from No. 4 (256 balls), with Hoboken, Empire City and El Paso shifting down from 1-3 to 2-4. The Mighty Men eventually dealt the top pick, swapping with Blue Ridge at No. 5 and getting back their original 2021 2nd rounder which Blue Ridge had gotten via Philly (eventually Marietta selected Mike Brosseau at 24th overall while Blue Ridge nabbed Ke'Bryan Hayes 1st overall. The Mighty Men tabbed Willi Castro at No. 5).
Marietta's improvement came at the expense of Hillsborough (61-101), which got bumped one spot to No. 6. It was Erie (55-107) whose fortunes turned for the worst. Hopatcong grabbed their original No. 4 pick and the Seawolves tumbled to No. 7, pushing the Allentown Mules (76-86) from an original No. 7 to No. 8.
The last four lottery picks remained the same: No. 9 Empire City (79-83), No. 10 Livingston (84-78), No. 11 Poovey Farms (86-76), and No. 12 San Francisco (92-70).
