Davies started the 9th but walked the first two batters, prompting a call to the bullpen. Neris came on and struck out Justin Upton - who had walked three times - before getting pinch-hitter Gregor Polanco to ground into the fourth Blue Ridge double play of the day and into the record books.

Davies walked an incredible 10 batters and struck out 6, tossing 126 pitches, only 66 for strikes. Four double plays bailed him out, especially in the 2nd inning when he walked the bases loaded with one out. That's as close as the Bombers came to scoring as two other double plays erased leadoff walks by Davies in the middle innings.
San Francisco put up three runs in the 4th and single runs in the 5th and 7th before adding another in the 8th. Brett Gardner had 3 hits for The Experience while leadoff man Neil Walker drove in two runs and had two hits.
Even after Saturday's no-no, Davies is allowing opposing batters an OPS of 1.014. His record is now 1-8 with an ERA of 7.91 and WHIP of 1.93. It was his first quality start in nine starts this season.
Trevor Bauer (4-4) took the loss, yielding 4 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits over 5 innings.
