Welcome to 2008

As the protected list due date draws near, it seems that the rumor mills have gotten very quiet. I expect things will surely heat up as the January 27th keeper due date gets closer.

Draft dates are now being considered and Saturday March 1 looks like a good possibility. It's a bit later than usual, but not that much. At least at this time, we'll have some spring training news to chew on. We're thinking about an evening or late afternoon draft this year, so no one has to get up early! Let me know your opinions on the draft date.

Also in the next few days, expect to hear more about this year's Hall of Fame candidates. We'll be opening up the voting this week, so keep your ears open.

maybe we can say from now protected lists will always be due the last sunday in january and the draft will always be held the last saturday in february (or first saturday in march or whatever), so people know not to get married that weekend. :)

Now that Paul is no longer with us I can't imagine the early start time really being a problem for anyone....
