After 14 innings, Tucson wins Game 6, takes series

Marcell Ozuna came up with another big postseason hit for Tucson, driving in Brett Gardner in the bottom of the 14th inning to give the King Snakes a 2-1 walk-off victory in Game 6 and clinching the series against Sardine City, 4-2.

Stephen Piscotty made a big play in the field and then at the plate during a critical 6th inning, to help Sardine City gain a 7-3 victory in Game 2 of their semifinal series against Tucson on Monday night.

Seung Hwan Oh was a model of efficiency as Tucson's closer, saving 32 of 33 opportunities for the Kingsnakes last season, on his way to the 2017 Eckersley Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award.

Johnny Cueto rebounded from a weak Game 1 outing to go 7-plus innings while the Vancouver offense got in gear early and held on for a 4-2 win in Game 5 to force Game 6 in Sardine City.

Schimpf stuns Vancouver with Game 4 walkoff HR

Ryan Schimpf picked an opportune if unlikely time for his first home run off a left-hander this season. Schimpf yanked a solo home run to right off Andrew Miller in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Sardine City a 4-3 victory in Game 4 for a 3-1 series lead.

John Jay went 4-for-4 and scored what proved to be the deciding run on a wild pitch in the 7th inning as top-seeded Vancouver took Game 1 in its Best-of-7 series against No. 4 Sardine City on Wednesday night.

Another big 8th-inning run on Friday night proved the difference for San Francisco, which took a 2-0 lead over Vancouver in the 1st round of the DMBL playoffs, after  the 5-2 victory.
